Born and raised in Upstate New York, Rick O’Disko has loved dance music for as long as he can remember: “In elementary school, I used to get to class early so that my friends and I could dance to our disco 45s.” At eight years old, he asked for – and received – a strobe light for Christmas. “I set my room up as a discotheque. There was no door policy – just come on in and get down.”
